The overall benefits of the Concept2 indoor rowing machine, using the right technique, are as follows:

Rowing is a complete combination of cardiovascular and strength conditioning, suitable from elite athletes following specific training to more casual use for people who just wish to exercise effectively.
It provides a superb aerobic workout; apparently second only to cross country skiing.  As a result, it is a very effective fat burning and weight management exercise.
It exercises all the major muscle groups, placing emphasis on the legs, through the core to the arms and shoulders.
